Photo Manipulation

A Nightmare on Elm Street is an upcoming 2010 American slasher film written by Wesley Strick and Eric Heisserer, directed by Samuel Bayer, and produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller. It is a remake of Wes Craven's 1984 slasher film of the same name and designed to reboot the franchise. The film stars Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger, a role made famous by Robert Englund, while Rooney Mara takes over the role of Nancy Thompson, originally portrayed by Heather Langenkamp. The remake is set to be released on April 30, 2010.

The style of the film is quite frightening because of the camera angles used, the expressions of the actors and the style of editing. The film although a remake has it's own unique personality that surpasses that of it's predecessor. The film which is anticipated by horror lovers around the world is sure to be a hit and would probably thought of as better than the original.

The BBFC

The BBFC is an independent non governmental body which has classified films since 1912 and videos since the passing of the video recordings act in 1984 the BBFC was set up in 1912 by the film industry to bring a degree of uniformity to the classification of film nationally. Statutory powers on film remain with the local councils, which may overrule any of the Board's decisions, passing films they reject, banning films they have passed, and even waiving cuts, instituting new ones, or altering categories for films exhibited under their own licensing jurisdiction. The BBFC is a highly experienced regulator for moving images and also a service provider for new and developing media. In order to preserve its independence, the BBFC's income is derived solely from the fees it charges for its services, calculated by measuring the running time of films or video works submitted for certification. The tariff must be approved by the relevant Government department. The Board is not organized for profit, and its fees are adjusted only as required to cover its costs.

The Council of Management is responsible for senior appointments and the financial oversight for the BBFC. Its members are excluded from classification decisions and policy, and must have no actual or perceived conflict of interest in relation to them. They do, however, need to be persons who command the confidence of the Board's customers.
