What is Film Four?

Film Four is a British film production company and is owned by channel 4, it is also a digital TV channel that showcases mainstream Hollywood films such as ‘Alien and Predator’.

Film Four Productions:

Film Four productions is responsible for backing a large number of films made in the UK the company has undergone 3 name changes during its time. First it was known as Channel Four Films, then it was changed to Film Four International and was finally changed with it’s current name as Film Four to coincide with the launch of the TV channel of the same name.

Film Four Digital TV Channel:

Film Four is a free digital TV channel in the UK and Republic of Ireland owned by Channel 4 that screens films, Film Four mainly broadcasts Hollywood films, the channel frequently has themed nights or seasons in which they focus on a certain genre, actor or director. They occasionally show non-film but film related programmes as well. Film Four was launched in November 1998 and was first a subscription only service until it ended on July of 2006 and was re-launched as a free to air service a few days later.
